Ibrahim had not really planned on coming to the crusade, but it seemed as if something had drawn him there. The whole city was alive with the talk of the week’s meetings, and he was feeling a tug on his heart to be there. His village was just fifty miles away, over almost impossible roads, a journey that without his own car always took him at least two days. He had come to Wukari to learn a trade, something that would help him break out of the poverty and desperation that encircled his life and held his family captive. He had come to get educated, but he had learned and received something more precious that would give them the hope that they needed.

Right across a muddy field, carved straight out of the jungle, the people stood. Silent to hear
every word, captivated by the salvation message and the love of Christ, many stood in foot-deep
sticky mud. At the front of the platform, there were pools of muddy water, yet each night the people came, removed their shoes, lifted their hands, and opened their hearts. .

Each day at the "Fire Conferences," Bonnke passionately inspired church leaders and workers, to step out for God and to enfire their passion for the lost. "Those that are not reaching the lost, are lost themselves!" he shared as he pressed home the urgency of the hour and the need to send workers into the harvest fields of the world.
